About Sunadavinodini
Established in 1987, Sunadavinodini has been a beacon of classical Carnatic music, dedicated to sensitizing the remote villages of Andhra Pradesh to this rich cultural heritage. Over the past decades, it has organized over 400 concerts under the banner of Bharati Gana Sabha, honoring its founder, the late violinist Smt. Bharathi. These concerts have featured illustrious vocalists and instrumentalists from across the country, fostering a deep appreciation for Carnatic music.
Today, under the leadership of Smt. Chaganti Venkata Meher Kalyani, Sunadavinodini has evolved into a Mridangam school. It aims to unite the community and immerse young aspirants in the art of Mridangam, guiding them on their musical journeys. Through comprehensive training and a supportive environment, Sunadavinodini continues to inspire and nurture the next generation of Carnatic musicians.

About Mridangam
The Mridangam, a cornerstone of Carnatic music, transcends its role as a mere percussion instrument. This double-headed drum, known for its rich tapestry of tones and unmatched versatility, is a conduit for centuries of South Indian musical tradition. Its intricate rhythmic patterns, coaxed forth by the skilled hands of the player, form the very lifeblood of Carnatic performances.
At Sunadavinodini, we believe a true understanding of the Mridangam goes beyond mastering its technique. We delve into the instrument’s fascinating history, exploring its deep cultural significance. Our students embark on a journey that unlocks the Mridangam’s role in temple rituals, classical dance performances, and storytelling through music. This holistic approach fosters a profound appreciation for the instrument and its place within the rich tapestry of South Indian culture.
